Golf Swing Tips-Slow Easy Golf Swing

Golf Swig Tips- How To Get That Slow Easy Swing

Paul Wilson explains how to develop a smooth easy, yet powerful, golf swing.

More Golf Swing Tips: http://ignitiongolf.com.

In this golf lesson I show you how to get that smooth, powerful swing everyone marvels at. You know the one. It's that swing that looks like the person is barely swinging yet they hit it a mile and they seem to hit every fairway. Although it looks simple it does take a little effort and the right instruction.

Most people are confused when they see someone with this type of golf swing. They just can't figure out how they do it no matter how much golf instruction they have taken. If this is you, what you are missing is that the body is telling the arms how fast to come down.

In a good golf swing the body only rotates at approximately 2.5 mph. If the body doesn't turn very fast and it's telling the arms how fast to come down the overall swing would appear slow and effortless.

The power is generated through the club hinging and re-hinging in the wrists. The looser the wrists, the more clubhead speed that is generated. If you've ever had some golf instruction or lessons in the past you will have worked on your wrist hinge but in doing so you were most likely trying to hit the ball solely with your arms. This hitting tightens your wrists and actually slows the club down.

To get this easy look you need this looseness in the wrists and you get it by not trying to hit anything at all. In other words, you're just letting the arms go along for the ride.

Ben Hogan Golf Tips

Ben Hogan Golf Tips… there aren`t many, if any, golfers to learn the golf swing from than Ben Hogan.

Before we get to Golf Digest, here`s a video preview of the Ben Hogan golf swing…

Here is a link to a Golf Digest series outlining golf tips from Ben Hogan.

Ben Hogan Golf Tips

Ben Hogan's nine major championships speak for themselves, but he also had an authoritative voice when it came to golf instruction.

Hogan wrote two books on the golf swing -- "Power Golf" in 1948 and "Five Lessons" in 1957 -- that are still sought after by golfers of all levels. Known for his meticulous practice habits, Hogan constantly worked on trying to perfect his swing and these books were his outlet to share the knowledge he'd gained with the general public.

Along the way, Hogan's lessons were sporadically published in Golf Digest as well. Here, we look back at some of these gems that are just as applicable today as when he doled them out.

7 Things All Great Players Do Here's who you should copy—and how to do it
My time around great players started with my dad. He finished top 10 in 11 major championships and won the Masters in 1948. His closest friend was Ben Hogan. When they'd play practice rounds together, I'd tag along silently, asking a million questions afterward. My clearest memory of Mr. Hogan is how he could control his ball. He always left it in the right place, even when he missed. And he could control it through the air like nobody--high, low, draw, fade. It was incredible to watch. One day my dad asked me to play with him and Mr. Hogan. By then I was a know-it-all teenager, and I got all the way to the first tee before my nerves took over. I remember standing over that first shot: I was wearing a visor, and on my last look down the fairway I saw a pair of golf shoes out of the corner of my left eye. Mr. Hogan's shoes. All those years watching him, and now he was watching me. I flared it right and didn't settle down until he threw his arm around me a few holes later. Great players have a huge effect on us, because they excel at something we love to do. Here I'll show you what I've learned from some of the top players I've coached. Some are things we worked on together; others, just like Mr. Hogan's ball control, are things I simply marveled at. I'm sure these lessons can help you play better.

Golf Swing Tension Free

Golf Swing Tension Free... here`s a golf tip from Golf Swing Speed Challenge to help us keep the tension out of our golf swings and increase our distance greatly.

Golf Swing Tension Free

Here’s A Simple Drill To Reduce Golf Swing Tension (so you hit the ball further!
Does this sound like you?… You feel a lot of tension in your golf swing and you try to tell yourself to relax but the harder you try to do this the more tense you become.

If this does sounds like you the first piece of advice is to not “try.” Why?
Because trying creates tension in your golf swing so cut that “trying” out first because it’s costing you distance and accuracy.
Next you should go out to your driving range and simply hit balls while humming quietly to yourself. When you’re doing this focus on your humming and notice if it stops or changes pitch at any time during your golf swing.

Just keep hitting balls focusing on your humming with the goal of swinging without the hum changing pitch or volume from the moment you start swinging to the end of your golf swing. But please don’t “try” to achieve this.

Simply keep swinging and focusing on your humming, and soon without you noticing the “whys” or “hows” your golf swing will become more rhythmical and less tense. Once your golf swing is more in tune with your natural rhythm you want to keep it that way. Do this by having a few golf swings each day while quietly humming to yourself.

Doing this will help you to have a golf swing with less tension and consequently you’ll hit the ball further and more consistently.

Golf Swing Analysis

Golf Swing Analysis... here is a golf tip from golf instructor Peter Norwood. It`s simple yet so true.

Peter suggests that we "play golf" not "play golf swing". He is so right. Most us get so rapped up in the golf swing analysis that we forget what we are actually doing.

Below is Peter`s bio plus an excerpt from his play golf vs play golf swing article.
Peter Norwood has developed one of the strongest teaching backgrounds in the country. Peter traveled the United States for a decade working and learning under many of the best instructors in the world. Peter developed his knowledge for the game of golf in the same manner as other experts develop knowledge in their fields. His knowledge comes from learning under top experts in his field and from years researching and studying top golfers.

Golf Swing Analysis?

Many individuals becoming so immersed in technique I would describe them as playing golf swing instead of playing golf. Let me stress one point right off the bat, great golf scores are shot by playing golf, not by playing golf swing. Remember this, don’t ever forget it. Golf is scored by getting the golf ball in the hole in the fewest strokes possible; it is not scored by how beautiful your technique appears. It is not Olympic aerobics. It is golf. Swing thoughts are thoughts in golfers’ minds while making golf swings. These thoughts vary among golfers; vary in the type of thought, the complexity of thought, and the number of thoughts. I never know what is going to come from golfers’ mouths when I ask them, “What are you currently thinking about when hitting shots?” I have heard golfers say anything from “absolutely nothing” to rattling off 4 or 5 of technical thoughts at once. Before I say anything else, let me reiterate this point, great golf scores are shot by golfers playing golf, not playing golf swing. The best golfers use simple and basic feels, but I assure you, complex thoughts are rare among the world’s best. It is even better on the course to have zero thoughts about the swing, playing using simple visualizations and feels, and embracing your tendencies on that particular day. This being said, there will be times when a swing thought is necessary, this is also a part of golf.

Hank Haney-When To Hit A Fade

Hank Haney-When To Hit A Fade... learn the shot to hit when you "must" hit a fairway.

As an aside, here`s what wikipedia says about Hank Haney...
Hank Haney (born August 24, 1955) is an American professional golf instructor best known for coaching Tiger Woods[1] and two-time major championship winner Mark O'Meara. A graduate of the University of Tulsa, Haney owns and operates four teaching facilities in the Dallas, Texas area. Haney says, "My philosophy as a teacher is to teach my students to become their own best teacher by getting them to understand the flight of the golf ball and how it relates to the swing, with emphasis on swinging the golf club on their own correct swing plane"
Getting back to the fade. I totally agree that it`s the best and or easiest way to hit a fairway. You may not get the full distance but you will be playing from the fairway. Here`s an excerpt from Hank Haney`s Golf Digest article...

Hank Haney-When To Hit A Fade

The no. 1 goal off the tee is putting the ball in play. And probably the easiest shot to control with a driver is a fade because the ball doesn't roll as far. The most important thing to know about playing a controlled fade is that the clubface must be slightly open to the swing path at impact. When you're playing a fade, the timing of the swing is the real key. If your hands and arms outrace your body through impact, the clubface tends to close too fast, causing the ball to hook. Feel that your body--and in particular your hips--are leading the clubhead through the shot (left). The faster you turn your body through, the less chance the face will close too much.
Hank Haney-When To Hit A Fade... pretty simple... something to use when you really, really need to hit a fairway.
